Great Scenes From Mad Men s03e03

In AMC, Mad Men on 09/03/2009 at 5:28 pm

Mad Men

DVR Life doesn’t really bother with show recaps or episode reviews.  That’s boring and there’s 8 billion TV blogs out there that already do it.  We have to admit, though, that we thought last Sunday’s episode of Mad Men was, quite possible, one of the best episodes in the series three years.  If you missed it, seek it out, folks.  We thought we’d share some of our favorite scenes…Those that we could find clips of, anyway.

First is a clip of Joan entertaining Dr. Loser’s Greg’s colleagues at a dinner party.  We must admit that we used our DVR’s rewind feature a few times with  this scene and fell in love with her just a little bit more each time we watched.  I hope someone from Stereolab was watching because I think Christina Hendricks could have a side gig in her future.

Warehouse 13 Sneak Peek

In Sci-Fi, Season Finale, Summer Schedule, SyFy, Warehouse 13 on 09/03/2009 at 4:12 pm

Warehouse 13

We’ve got a bit of a sneak peek at next week’s episode of Warehouse 13 on SyFy.  The episode is entitled Breakdown and it looks like the breakdown may be of the warehouse itself!  Really interested to see them trek through the “Dark Vault”, especially when things are going haywire!

If you’ve been missing Warehouse 13, you’re summer was not as great as it could have been!  Don’t fret, though, you have plenty of time to catch up via Hulu before the season 1 finale on September 22nd.  We’re looking forward to season 2 next summer, too.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Warehouse 13 airs each Tuesday at 9pm on SyFy.

New Bored To Death Promo

In 2009 Fall Season, 2009 Pilots, Bored To Death, Curb Your Enthusiasm, HBO on 09/03/2009 at 2:30 pm

Bored To Death

It’s a new Bored To Death promotional trailer!  We were quite excited to stumble upon this on!  Besides the previously reported Jason Schwartzman, Ted Danson, Parker Posey, Zach Galifianakis and Kristen Wiig, this video clip also features Patton Oswalt and Oliver Platt.  To celebrate, here’s a picture of Oliver Platt looking kind of creepy:

And now on to the video:

Bored To Death debuts Sunday September 20th at 9:30pm on HBO after the seventh season premiere of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Chuck <3's Superman?

In 2010 Spring Schedule, Chuck, Lois & Clark, NBC, Smallville, The CW on 09/03/2009 at 12:34 pm

The producers of Chuck must have some Superman love in their hearts!  Kristen Kreuk, formerly known as Lana Lang on The CW’s Smallville, has just been cast in the part of a new character named Hannah.  She and Chuck are slated to meet on a Paris-bound flight and, having recently been laid-off from a publishing firm, takes up a position at The Buy More.  I’m sure the Nerd Herd will enjoy that.  Expect Hannah to be around for a few episodes.

The casting of one former Smallville actor does not a crush make, you say?  But wait!  A few days prior to the announcement of Ms. Kreuk’s casting, NBC announced the casting of an actual Superman: Brandon Routh, who starred in Superman Returns.  He’s set to star as a mysterious spy (is there any other kind?) named Shaw that takes charge of Operation Bartowski.

Now if they could only get Dean Cain or Teri Hatcher from Lois & Clark to guest star and Chuck will have all Superman related platforms covered!

Chuck returns for it’s third season sometime in March 2010 on NBC.

Castle Season Premiere Sneak Peek!

In 2009 Fall Season, ABC, Castle on 09/03/2009 at 11:31 am

Sexy is certainly not a crime!  Late August and early September is awash in promotional trailers for new and returning shows.  It’s nice when one actually stands out!  This new sneak peek at the return of ABC’s Castle, we must admit, had us laughing out loud throughout the nearly two minute run-time.  From the murmurs we’re hearing of those with season two screeners, this show is not going anywhere near a sophomore slump.

By the way, has anyone been reading Heat Wave as ABC has been posting the chapters?  We’ve been downloading them but have yet to actually read it.  We’ll get to it eventually, we swear!

Castle returns to ABC for it’s second season on Monday September 21st at 10pm.
